Weathering the storms...

Life is a battlefield! Each day comes with new battles. It seems to circle back to that statement  in many aspects and times in our lives.
We can also all point to a time in our lives and remember that there seemed to be no hope or solution to a problem. But what we must always remember is that without rain and storms we may not always appreciate the sunny days that are always waiting, there to shine. But in order to get back to that oasis of rest and enjoyment we endure, overcome, learn and grow. Sometimes it's not always easy to get thorough these mountains and valleys but low and behold there is always a lesson to be learned.
So whether it is raining or pouring, a frightening thunderstorm, an angry hurricane, or even a destructive tsunami. The battles we face shape us into the people we become. Teaching us to learn from our mistakes and even others mistakes once we catch on to the vicious cycle that never ceases. Our battles we may face come in many shapes, forms and sizes. The question arises and we must as individuals, decide how to act. As  individuals we can let the circumstances cause us to react to our emotions and feelings or we can learn to decipher and respond in ways that are productive and beneficial. All decisions that are made as a result of a storm in turn lead to more circumstances and those can be good or bad.
Let's not forget the silent battles within. They can grow deep and dark, and in a place only we know. It's always best to find outlets in these battle scenarios because often times battles of this degree can lead to nuclear explosions. It's always best to nurture our hearts and take care of ourselves so that we are capable of helping, loving and growing with others.
In times of tribulation and trouble, I find myself falling on scripture and prayer. We can find comfort in knowing that our hurts are known and validated. Our fears, worries and troubles are being taken care of by a God that loves His children, His creations, His loves. We are His children and his comfort also comes in many forms. My weapon of choice in times of trouble is my bible. In it I find so much comfort and inspiration. There are numerous teachings and lessons learned by others that can be applied to our own lives in may ways.
A Scripture that comes to mind when in times of worry is Matthew 6:26-27. Therefore I tell you do not worry about your life, what you will eat or dirnk: or about your body, what will you wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly father feeds them. Are you not more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
